Description
The Dura cherry plum is a hybrid fruit tree resulting from a cross between a cherry and a plum. It is very hardy and can withstand harsh winters.
It produces small red fruits with smooth skin and juicy, sweet, purple flesh. The fruit can be eaten fresh or made into jams, jellies, juices, pies, etc. The Dura cherry plum is dwarfed, growing to no more than 2.5 metres in height and width.
It needs another variety of cherry plum for pollination and fruiting. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun. It blooms in spring with beautiful white flowers. It’s an ornamental and edible tree that adds colour and flavour to your garden.
