The fruit remarkable ripens 2-3 weeks earlier than most muscadines. The berries have a dry stem scar and harvest readily with mechanical shaking. The grape is best none for its delicious taste and texture with an edible skin. The exceptional taste was noted by all the visitors at the trial vineyard who sampled the fruit, which is how it got the name 'Delicious'.
